What happens when a driver doesn't connect, loses signal or stops sharing, what cancelling does, and what GPS tracking can't tell you.
No. It shows you where the truck is, so you don't have to call just to ask for a location. You'll still talk to drivers and dispatchers about delays, appointments and problems.
The load page shows the step it stopped at: invite not sent, invite sent, link opened, or connected. If the invite was sent but never opened, check the phone number and use Re-send / change phone (free), or send the link from your own phone. If the link was opened but the driver never connected, they probably didn't finish installing the app or agreeing to location sharing: point them to For drivers. While no position has arrived, the load also shows a No signal exception and you get an email. PingPoint doesn't call drivers for you.
The app stores positions on the phone and sends them when the signal returns, so the route fills in afterwards. While no data is coming in, the tracking page shows the time of the last update and marks the position as possibly outdated after 15 minutes. After 20 minutes without a position on an active load, the load gets a No signal exception on the Exceptions page and PingPoint emails you, unless you turned load emails off in Settings. You get another email when positions arrive again.
The driver can pause sharing in the app. Your loads list and the tracking page then show that sharing is paused. A phone that is switched off, has the app force-closed or has location turned off sends nothing. In both cases the No signal email arrives after 20 minutes without a position (see above). Then contact the driver or dispatcher the usual way: PingPoint doesn't call anyone for you.
Tracking stops right away and the tracking link shows "Load cancelled — tracking stopped". Cancelling is free, but the $0.65 for creating the load is not refunded.
After delivery (the truck leaves the delivery stop or the driver marks it departed), when you cancel the load, or when the driver pauses sharing.
No. It shows where the phone with the PingPoint app is. That helps you notice a load moving somewhere unexpected, but it doesn't verify a carrier's identity or authority and it isn't protection against fraud or double brokering.
You, on your own loads, and anyone you give the load's tracking link to. Tracking links are not listed in search engines. PingPoint never sells location data. See the privacy policy.
No. You need the driver's phone number and a driver who installs the free app. The API, SDK and MCP server are optional, for brokers who want their own software to create loads.
$0.65 per load, and $0.02 per ETA click in the dashboard. Everything else in the dashboard is included. New accounts get $10 of credit after email verification. Details: pricing.
